Sunray 4pins Toco Fetal Probe
Sunray 4pins Toco Fetal Probe delivers clear signals for reliable fetal and maternal monitoring during labor. Designed for precise uterine contraction measurement, it ensures patient safety and comfort. It's widely compatible with standard hospital-grade CTG and fetal monitors.
Sunray 4-pin Toco Fetal Probe is a medical transducer designed for Cardiotocography (CTG) to monitor uterine activity (UA) during pregnancy.
Core Functionality
Purpose: It measures the frequency and duration of uterine contractions by sensing abdominal muscle displacement via a pressure transducer.
Result Display: On a fetal monitor, the Toco data is typically shown as the bottom line (the top line being the fetal heart rate).
Technical Specifications
Connector Type: Features a 4-pin connector, often with a single notch or "double positioning" yellow plug for secure attachment.
Cable: Typically made of medical-grade gray/white TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), measuring between 2 and 3 meters in length.
Compatibility:
Designed primarily for Sunray monitors like the SRF618 series (e.g., SRF618B5, SRF618K9).
Third-party versions may be compatible with specific older HP (Philips) or Edan monitors that use the same 4-pin interface definition.
Clinical Usage & Maintenance
Placement: The probe is placed on the uterine fundus (the top of the uterus) where contractions are strongest and secured with a fetal monitor belt.
No Gel Required: Unlike ultrasound fetal heart rate probes, the Toco probe is a mechanical pressure sensor and does not require ultrasound coupling gel.
Care: The transducer and cables should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. They should not be soaked in liquid unless they are specifically rated as waterproof (IPX7/8).
